Sea Turtle Nesting and Hatching at Cancun and Riviera Maya

One of this summer’s featured attractions at Palace Resorts is centered on giving back – not something always synonymous with all-inclusive, luxury resorts.

Palace Resorts has been preserving ecology by participating in an ancient ritual of nature – the nesting and hatching of native leatherback and loggerhead turtles.

Watching up close…

During late summer months, Palace Resort guests have the unique opportunity to learn more about sea turtles. Along with conservationists, guests can help care for and release baby turtles into the Caribbean Sea. This activity is a great way to encounter firsthand the little creatures that make our beaches and water so unique and precious. Guests will have the rare treat of spending time with baby turtles and watching them race off to cool waters.

By participating in this awe-inspiring activity, guests will be furthering Palace Resorts Foundation’s mission – to preserve local, ecological culture. Engaging guests to safeguard the endangered species of turtles that inhabit the beaches of Cancun and Riviera Maya has had a beneficial impact – Palace Resorts has 864 protected turtle nests and 100, 604 turtle eggs, of which 255 have already hatched. Preserving ecological health has never been so enjoyable and rewarding.

Take advantage of this opportunity as part of a group or incentive group. Learn more about sea turtle species and participate in the recovery of these amazing creatures.
