Welcome to Quintana Roo, the Mexican Caribbean. While your group may be perfectly content to stay on the resort property, our location in one of Mexico’s most vibrant tourist destinations also offers a wide range of exciting, fun, cultural and awesome things to do. Here are some suggestions for experiencing lively Cancun or the beautiful Mayan Riviera, the scenic coastline that stretches from Cancun to Tulum. Your Awe-Inclusive Planner would be delighted to help you arrange destination activities.
Ancient Mayan Civilization
- Chichen Itza: The easiest, most convenient way to visit this world-famous archaeological site is on a tour. Don’t miss Kukulkan’s Pyramid, as well as the Sacred Well, the Ball Court, the Temple of the Warriors and the Observatory.
- Coba: One of the oldest cities of the Mayan civilization, this historical site is located in the middle of the lush jungle among five lagoons and features the highest pyramid in the Yucatan Peninsula, taller than Chichen Itza’s El Castillo.
- Tulum: This fascinating archaeological zone by the sea was the only walled city built by the Mayans.
Follow a guide on a two-seater speedboat or wave runner through dense mangrove channels to explore the second largest reef in the world: Punta Nizuc Reef, a perfect snorkeling spot with depths from 20 to 30 feet.
Snorkeling or Scuba Diving
Discover the beautiful reefs and exotic sea life that make the Mexican Caribbean one of the best areas to snorkel and scuba dive. No matter what your experience level is, there are tours for everyone. Groups can take a day trip to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel to experience the unforgettable snorkeling and scuba diving along the coral reefs. They can also visit the eco and adventure parks such as Xcaret, Xel-ha, Xplor and Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve.
The waters of Cancun and the Mayan Riviera are brimming with sea life, and anglers will find plentiful game fish like grouper, pompano, mahi-mahi, amberjack, great barracuda, sailfish, yellow tail and marlin. Excursion boats are specially equipped for sport fishing, and the crews are very familiar with the area and the best fishing spots. Private group rentals can be arranged.
Browse through open-air markets and shops for treasures handcrafted by local artisans. Or indulge in brand-name shopping at shopping malls like La Isla Shopping Village, Kukulcan Plaza & Luxury Avenue, Plaza Caracol and Plaza Las Américas.
